Our Story
Dr
Gerard Chuah, a former Public Service Commission Local Merit Scholar, obtained
his basic medical degree in 1988 from the National University of Singapore
(NUS) followed by his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
(FRCS Edinburgh) in 1993.
In
1994, he obtained his Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology from the Postgraduate
School of Medicine, NUS. He subsequently obtained his Advanced Specialty
Training Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery in 1997 at University of Toronto
and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Upon
his return to Singapore, he obtained his Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine,
Singapore and was accredited as a specialist in Ophthalmology in Singapore in
1998.
Dr Gerard was the former head of the Alexandra Hospital Eye Service, former Head of Business Development of the Eye Institute, National Healthcare Group as well as Chairman of the National Kidney Foundation Children's Medical Fund from 2001-2005.Recognized for his experience and expertise; he is a visiting professor to the Qingdao Hai Ci Group of Hospitals and a former visiting lecturer to the Shanghai Ren Ji Hospital Group. Dr Gerard Chuah is accredited and registered as a specialist in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.

The
clinic is focused mainly in the treatment of complex Retinal Diseases such as
Retinal Detachments/Retinal Tears, Age Related Macula Degeneration, Diabetic
Retinopathy and other retinal conditions.
Other
services that the clinic provide includes full eye examination, full glaucoma
screening, cataract screening and myopia control.
As

Acrrediated Day Surgery Center; the clinic is fully equiped to perform
retina laser surgery, small incision cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, simple
vitrectomy surgery and simple eyelid surgeries.
